Liminal Orbit
Liminal Orbit is a low-fidelity, psychological horror exploration game built entirely inside a raw retro software engine. Inspired by classic late-90s PC gaming aesthetics and modern weirdcore surrealism, the game drops you into an unstable reality that remembers your presence.
The Experience
You wake up inside a shifting web of liminal spaces. Black and purple checkerboard voids collapse into endless green fields, concrete mazes, and static-drenched halls. Your only method of navigation is to step through free-standing doorways scattered throughout the landscape. Every door you cross instantly rewrites the architecture of the world, trapping you in a cycling loop of dreamlike environments.
Audio and Visuals
The game features a heavily saturated, custom synthesized soundtrack built to disorient the player. Low frequency analog drones and out-of-tune melodies distort dynamically as entities approach, shifting from nostalgic ambiance into deafening panic pulses. Combined with a permanent CRT scanline overlay and abrupt pixel glitches, the atmosphere delivers a pure, unpolished retro nightmare.
